The Boston College Fine Arts department is located in the recently renovated Devlin Hall. Designed by the architects Maginnis and Walsh, Devlin Hall was constructed in 1925. Art studios as well as faculty offices and our slide library of about 100,000 slides are at this location. Classrooms of various sizes are equipped for audiovisual projection for the art history classes. There are studios for painting and drawing, as well as facilities for teaching photography and filmmaking in Devlin Hall. Additional studios for sculpture, ceramics, and advanced painting are available in two nearby carriage houses.Art books are housed in the Bapst Art Library, which is housed in a Gothic Revival building also constructed by Maginnis and Walsh.
The Boston College Museum of Art opened in Devlin Hall in the fall of 1993, and was dedicated as the Charles and Isabella McMullen Museum of Art in 1996.
